She never IMAGINED that her yard could look so GOOD!!!
I was driving around looking for a yard to clean up when I saw this property and noticed a pile of junk in the backyard. Believe it or not, I'd already visited 2 other properties and the residents said no to a free cleanup. Sometimes it just amazes me when people say no to a free Transformation!
After seeing the tenant about to leave in his drive, I walked up and offered my services, and he also initially refused as well. After a bit of fast talking, I managed to convince him that it was a good idea to get the job done, and he would be amazed. Let me tell you, his wife was amazed and truly thankful to finally have a nice yard to look at and for a safe area for their son to play. All up, I spent around 13 hours on this job, including 4 trips to the landfill.

Q: Where are you located?

Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.

Watching George’s videos and I have now seen all of them, I’d say his pet peeves are: 1. blackberries 2. English Ivy 3. Cotoneasters 4. Any invasive plant. He goes after them all with gusto. 🙋🇨🇦🙋

That was a lot of cleaning up you've done. You did a great job. Satisfying to see each section of the back & front yard being cleaned, but very frustrating to have filthy tenants. Regardless of how busy we are, if we are able bodied, cleaning should be part of daily chores. Its just a matter of proper time management. But if a person is lazy, and uncaring, its easy to make excuses... Bottom line is, wether we are renting or not, that place is a home for you and your family while you are living there. That's where you go home to after a day's work or school. A place where you rest your body & mind after work. Should be your family's safe place.
Why these homeowners are turning their gardens into landfill
He is the best gardener among UA-camrs. He will clean up the weeds after cutting, clear away the debris, and repair the broken things. The most important thing is that he will not always cut a little part then use the blower to keep blowing, the sound very loudly will disturb neighbors.
Your attenton to detail is exceptional. The end result will hopefully inspire the folks living there to keep it all up. Bravo
